Nebraska Cornhuskers - Big 12 PreviewSince a 5-6 record in his first year as head coach four years ago Bill Callahan feels that this will be the breakout year for the Nebraska Cornhuskers football program. With a star transfer in Quarterback Sam Keller, Nebraska has their sights set on a Big 12 title .

SportsBetting.com has the Corhuskers at 40 to 1 odds to win the SBC championship

On offense the Cornhuskers run a pro style west coast attack that utilizes a lot of dump off passes. QB Sam Keller, 6, 4 230, has NFL first round caliber talent and has picked up the offense quickly. The Huskers have a power and speed 1-2 combo with elusive Marlon Lucky, 6-0 210, complemented by bruiser Cody Glenn, 6-0, 230. The receivers are possibly the best in school history. The receivers are big and physical. Up front the O-line is big and potentially dominant.

The defense is aggressive an unpredictable out of the 4-3. All the D- lineman are newbies but they might be better than last years group. Nose tackle Ndamukong Suh, 6-4 305, is a dominant force inside and DE Barry Turner has an explosive first step off the edge . The linebackers are fast, aggressive and smart. Outside linebacker Bo Rudd, 6-3 235, leads the group with his versatility and speed. Middle linebacker Corey McKeon, 6-1 225, is a blood and guts player that is returning from injury. The secondary appears solid with 3 starters returning. Shutdown corner Zackary Bowman reinjured a knee but he could be back by mid-season providing a huge boost. The special teams will have a true freshmen place-kicker. The special teams are not so hot overall.

This team has a daunting schedule but very well could capture the Big 12 title with a QB like Keller and a sound defense.
