Army Black Knights vs Temple Owls: College Football Betting PreviewArmy Black Knights vs. Temple Owls; Betting Line, Temple by -7½ (total 41); television ESPN-Classic; kickoff 7:05 PM ET; Michie Stadium, West Point, N.Y. Betting lines provided by Sportsbook.com.

Both Temple and Army are college football programs trying to turn the corner from futility to respectability. Wins have been hard to find for either program so in tonight’s h ead to head match-up, getting a win is a must.

Under the guidance of second-year head coach Stan Brock, the Black Knights host the Owls just 11months from their last meeting, one of the three wins in 2007. Army returns 11 starters and will utilize a spread offense and multiple defenses.

While the Army playbook is new , plenty of recognizable faces return on the offensive side of the ball. Junior quarterback Carson Williams returns for his third season as the Black Knights’ starting quarterback. Williams started the final 10 games of 2007, completing 52.6 percent of his throws for 1,770 yards, 11 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. Considered more of a traditional drop-back passer upon entering the Academy, Williams has made the adjustment to running Army’s new system and is listed as the starter entering the season-opener.

Under the direction of third-year head coach Al Golden, Temple returns 51 lettermen and 33 starters to 22 positions, including all 11 starters on defense.

Offensively, Matt Rhule takes over as offensive coordinator after two years as the Owls’ quarterbacks coach. Rhule will be able to utilize the talents of senior quarterback Adam DiMichele, who had his 2007 season cut short due to a broken tibia in October. DiMichele was 138 of 223 for 1,595 yards and 12 touchdowns in eight games prior to his injury.

The Owls return everybody from a defense that gave up 26.2 points and 363.5 yards per game in 2007. Strong safety Dominique Harris led the Owls last season with 81 total tackles and three interceptions. Defensive end Junior Galette was Temple’s most frequent visitor to the opponent’s backfield with a team-best 11.5 tackles for loss, including 7.5 sacks. After allowing 37 points in their loss to Army, the Owls gave up more than 30 points only once in their final seven games. Temple limited the opposition to less than 20 points in four of its final seven outings.

Prediction: We like OVER the posted 41 total. Both teams should score at least three touchdowns.
