2010 College Football Betting Odds: The 2010 college football season is officially here as the season opens tomorrow evening with a full line up of 18 games. Granted, there are several non-marquee matchups, but the schedule makers are serving up a few choice contests as Southern Mississippi takes on South Carolina and Pittsburgh visits Utah. Visit online bookmaker BetUS.com today for the latest lines on those two games and the best 2010 College Football Betting Odds, including BCS Odds, conference championship odds, and regular season win totals.

When two quality teams hook up in the first week of the season, the outcome can often determine whether or not the two 2010 College Football Betting Oddscombatants will fall short of or exceed win total expectations. That could be the case tomorrow night when Utah hosts Pittsburgh at Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City.

Pittsburgh, one of the favorites to win the Big East this season, currently has a regular season win total of eight with the Under being favored at -125 moneyline odds. The fact that the Under is favored has everything to do with the Panthers non-conference schedule, which features road games against the aforementioned Utes as well as Notre Dame and a home contest against the 13th ranked Miami Hurricanes.

A 1-2 or 0-3 finish in those three games would almost certainly put Dave Wannstedt's squad in jeopardy of a sub-eight season as its conference schedule features road games at Connecticut, at South Florida, and at Cincinnati.

BetUS.com has Utah's regular season win total set at 8.5 with the Over favored at -155 moneyline odds. The Utes face Pittsburgh, San Jose State, Iowa State, and Notre Dame in non-conference action. Obviously, odds makers are anticipating 2-2 as a worse case scenario for Kyle Whittingham's club in those contests.

In Mountain West play Utah has owned just about everyone in recent seasons with the exception of BYU and TCU. Assuming the Utes go 2-2 in their non-con and beat all conference competition except the Cougars and Horned Frogs, both of which they host, then they are staring at an eight win season.

Tomorrow's game could well be the hinge for Utes backers as a win over Pitt changes the 2-2 worst case to 3-1 and likely puts the team over the 8.5 win hump needed to cash on the Over.

BetUS.com 2010 College Football Betting Odds:

Pittsburgh Panthers Regular Season Wins – Over 8 (-105), Under 8 (-125)

Utah Utes Regular Season Wins – Over 8.5 (-155), Under 8.5 (+125)
