UCLA vs Kansas State 2010 College Football Predictions, 2010 College Football Odds & 2010 College Football Picks: College football fans will be treated to a Pac 10/Big 12 showdown tomorrow afternoon as the UCLA Bruins take on the Kansas State Wildcats. The BCS clash is scheduled to get underway at 3:30pm ET at the Bill Synder Family Stadium in Manhattan, Kansas (ABC). 2010 College Football Predictions, Odds & Picks at online bookmaker BetUS.com have the Wildcats listed as a -1.5 against the spread home favorite; the Over/Under is set at 45.
UCLA won this meeting a year ago, beating Bill Synder's squad 23-9 at the Rose Bowl as an 12 point against the spread
favorite. The Bruins, which capitalized on two interceptions from Kansas State's Carson Coffman, used a solid rush defense (held the Wildcats to 69 rush yards) and a 173 yard rushing (5.1 ypc) effort to ice the game away.
Much has changed since that night, though, as the current Wildcats more closely resemble a true Bill Synder squad and UCLA has sustained a number of losses on the defensive side of the ball. Gone are leading tacklers Reggie Carter and Kyle Bosworth as well as cornerback Alterraun Verner and defensive tackle Brian Price.
The Bruins also come into this game dealing with injuries to quarterback Kevin Prince (oblique), which could limit the sophomore signal caller, Groza winning kicker Kai Forbath (groin), and starting center Kai Maiava, who is out with a broken ankle.
Coffman, who was demoted to the second string just two weeks after KSU's loss to the Bruins, is, once again, the starting quarterback in Manhattan. Coffman, though, is not the engine that drives Synder's offense as that distinction belongs to running back Daniel Thomas. Many are projecting the senior tailback, who was limited to 54 yards in 15 carries in last year's loss to UCLA, to top the 1265 rush yards and 11 scores he posted in 2009.
Kansas State may be centered in 'flyover country', but at least a few people on the West Coast will take notice of the school's football program tomorrow night as the Wildcats avenage last season's loss to the Bruins. Take Synder's squad minus the 1.5.
2010 College Football Picks Betting Trend: UCLA is 2-10 straight up over the last three years as a road dog. The Bruins are 1-5 straight up over the last five years as a road dog with a total between 44.5 and 47 (Under 6-0). Kansas State is 14-1 straight up the last five years playing as a home favorite.
