Tulsa vs Tulane College Football Odds, Picks & Predictions: ESPN will bring college football fans a Conference USA West tilt tonight as the Tulsa Golden Hurricane are in New Orleans tonight to take on the Tulane Green Wave. College football betting odds at Bodog.com have Tulsa listed as a -14 against the spread favorite in this evening's 8:00pm ET league clash. Tulsa stormed its way to an 11-3 record a season ago and won the Head Coach Todd Graham has just five starters back from last year's prolific offense (47.2 points per game), but a number of quality players are still on the roster. Running back Jamad Williams, who had 523 yards last year while averaging 6.1 yards per carry, will take the place of Tarrion Adams. Highly touted quarterback Jacob Bower will fill in for David Johnson (4059 yards, 46 touchdowns) and Damaris Jackson (53 catches, 743 yards, 10 touchdowns) will assume the top receiver spot. The offensive line, which paved the way for 268 rush yards per game last season, does lose three starters and will have trouble equaling 2008's ridiculous numbers. The defense was the weaker half for Tulsa last season, allowing 27.9 points and 379 yards per game, but this year it will return eight senior starters. Additionally, the top three tacklers are back on campus as well as the top three pass rushers. Tulane, which went 2-10 overall and 1-7 in conference play last season, has 13 starters and 53 lettermen back. While the Green Wave were no juggernaut, their 2008 record was somewhat skewed as a result of season ending injuries to quarterback Joe Kemp, top running back Andre Anderson, and leading receiver Jeremy Williams. All of those players return healthy this season, which should make Tulane a more formidable opponent in the Conference USA. Tulane can only improve on defense after allowing 34.5 points and 391 yards per game last season. The rush defense, as Tulsa can attest, was dreadful in 2008, giving up an average of 218 yards per game (5.7 yards per carry). Tulsa rushed for 489 yards in last year's meeting with Tulane, which led to a 56-7 final score in favor of the Golden Hurricane. Tulsa has abused the Green Wave over the past four seasons, averaging over 45 points and winning by an average of 33 per game.
