Wisconsin vs. UNLV 2010 College Football Predictions

by Reno Gold on Saturday, September 4th, 2010

No. 12 Wisconsin travels to the bright lights of Las Vegas to play the Rebels of UNLV. The Badgers, expected to challenge Ohio State for BIG TEN superiority in 2010, is favored versus the Rebels by 20 1/2. The game, televised on VERSUS, has a late 11 pm ET kickoff.

Wisconsin vs. UNLV 2010 College Football PredictionsWisconsin leads the all-time series 6-2 and the Badgers are 3-1 vs. UNLV at Sam Boyd Stadium. One of those games was the “Blackout Bowl” of 2002, which made national news for the wrong reasons as power was knocked out at Sam Boyd Stadium and the game was ruled final at 27-7 Wisconsin with 7:41 still remaining in the fourth quarter. Over the last 14 quarters of play, Wisconsin has scored only three offensive touchdowns against UNLV, dating back to the 2002 season.

Sportsbook.com oddsmakers list the Badgers as -20 chalk favorites versus UNLV with a 55 1/2 total. Moneyline odds are OFF the Sportsbook college board. Early betting trends show 65 percent of gamblers taking Wisconsin ATS while 69 percent are betting on the total to go UNDER.

Game Picks: UNLV will be using this game as a measuring stick to see where they are compared to one of the better programs from the BIG TEN. While Wisconsin is expected to win the game, covering as a near three touchdown favorite is another matter. I like my odds taking UNLV +20.
