BYU vs Oklahoma College Football Picks, Odds & Predictions: The No. 3 Oklahoma Sooners will take on the No. 20 BYU Cougars tonight at Cowboys Stadium in Dallas. This evening's contest should feature plenty of offensive fireworks as the two teams combined averaged over 85 points per game last season. Kickoff for this Big 12 versus Mountain West clash is set for 7:00pm ET; it will be broadcast live on ESPN. SBGglobal.com has the Sooners listed as a heavy -22.5 against the favorite to take out the Cougars.

The Sooners roll into Dallas with one of the most talented teams in BYU vs Oklahoma College Football Picks, Odds & Predictionsthe country. The offense, which posted an average of 51.1 points per game in 2008, is still engineered by Heisman winning quarterback Sam Bradford. Bradford lit up opposing secondaries last year for 4720 yards and 50 touchdowns on his way to the coveted trophy. The top two rushers, Chris Brown and DeMarco Murray, who combined for 2222 yards and 34 touchdowns, return as well.

The offensive line is somewhat of a question mark, though, with four starters moving on. Also, Bradford will be without his two favorite targets from 2008 tonight. Wide receiver Juaquin Iglesias is playing for the Chicago Bears and tight end Jermaine Gresham suffered a knee injury last week that will keep him out of this evening's lineup.

The Sooners defense brings back eight starters from last year's underachieving unit. The team gave up un-Stoops like numbers a season ago, yielding 24.5 points and 368 yards per game. That should change this year with a powerhouse front seven in place. Linebacker Travis Lewis, defensive tackle Gerald McCoy, defensive end Jeremy Beal, and defensive end Auston English, just to name a few, all returned to Norman.

The Cougars garnered a top 20 AP ranking after finishing up the 2008 campaign with a 10-3 record. Despite the sensational mark and second place MWC conclusion, the season ended on a low for BYU after the team lost the regular season finale 24-48 to Utah and then fell 21-31 to Arizona in the Las Vegas Bowl.

Head Coach Bronco Mendenhall's squad will again be led by quarterback Max Hall and running back Harvey Unga. Hall had a fantastic junior season, completing 330 of his 477 pass attempts for 3957 yards and 35 touchdowns. Unga earned second team MWC honors for a second time after rumbling for 1132 yards and 11 touchdowns. The 239lbs. tailback also snagged 42 catches for 309 yards and four touchdowns.

Eight starters are back on defense for Mendenhall, but that may not matter tonight against the Sooners. The team had respectable numbers last year, holding teams to 21.9 points and 356 yards per game, but their front seven will have a difficult time trying to control Brown and Murray, which will make Bradford and the passing game alomst impossible to stop.
