Nevada vs Notre Dame College Football Predictions, Odds & Picks: The Nevada Wolf Pack are in South Bend, Indiana today to take on No. 23 Notre Dame. The Fighting Irish will try to pick up where they left off last season by beating a WAC school in dominating fashion. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30pm ET on NBC. College football predictions at Sportsbook.com have the Golden Domers pegged as a -14.5 against the spread home favorite in this afternoon battle.

Notre Dame finished 7-6 last year, rebounding from a dismal 3-9 Nevada vs Notre Dame College Football Predictions, Odds & Pickscampaign in 2007. Charlie Weis' squad capped off the season with a 49-21 over Hawaii in the Hawaii Bowl. The easy victory along with 15 starters and 44 lettermen returning to South Bend has Irish fans thinking about a possible BCS bowl birth.

The offense, which averaged 24.7 points and 355 yards per contest last season, should see drastic improvement in 2008. Junior quarterback Jimmy Clausen made big strides last year, throwing for 3172 yards and 25 touchdowns, and the offensive line returns eight of the top 10 from a season ago. Also back are Clausen's top targets, Golden Tate and Michael Floyd. The pair combined for 106 receptions, 1799 yards, and 17 touchdowns last season.

The Irish defense, which will have its hands full today, returns eight starters from a unit that held teams to 22.2 points per game. Senior safety Kyle McCarthy is back to lead the secondary while the front seven takes shape under the influence of several highly touted recruits.

The Wolf Pack, led by Head Coach Chris Ault (25th year at the school), come into today's game ready to make a name for themselves. Nevada went 7-6 last season and appears to be ready to do something with 14 starters and 45 lettermen returning to Reno.

The offense certainly knows how to get it done as it produced an average of 37.6 points and 509 yards per game in 2008. It will again be led by the dynamic duo of Colin Kaepernick and Vai Taua. Kaepernick threw for 2849 yards and 22 touchdowns in his sophomore season while rushing for 1130 yards and 17 touchdowns. Taua, meanwhile, scampered for 1521 and 15 touchdowns out of the backfield.

If the Wolf Pack defense can find a way to slow Notre Dame down, the offense has enough firepower to keep them in this game.
