If there is a coach who wasn’t happy to see Michigan lose to Appalachian State last Saturday other than Michigan’s Lloyd Carr it was Oregon Ducks coach Mike Belotti. After all, Belotti knows the quality of talent Michigan has with Heisman contenders Chad Henne and Mike Hart. Then throw in All-Big-Ten receiver Mario Manningham into the mix. While it’s obvious Appalachian State didn’t get the Wolverines respect; have no doubt, the Oregon Ducks will. After a week of abuse, Michigan players and coaches have had to endure including calls from the faithful to "Fire Lloyd Carr", Oregon might as well have Appalachian State written across their jersey’s but this time the beast in Maize and Blue will be awake along with 110,000 angry fans in the Big House. The game will be televised nationally by ABC with kickoff at 3:30 p.m. ET.
"We were all blown away. We couldn't say anything about it," Oregon running back Jeremiah Johnson told reporters after the Ducks' victory over Houston at Autzen Stadium last Saturday. "We were pretty much speechless."
