2010 College Football Week 2 Odds

by Matt Foust on Tuesday, September 7th, 2010

2010 College Football Week 2 Odds: With week one officially in the bag, college football fans can now look forward to a week 2 lineup that features big games all over the board. While kickoff weekend is always exciting, the game matchups, aside from last night's Boise State/Virginia Tech showdown and a few other key contests, pale in comparison to this week's offing. On the docket are conference showdowns between Stanford/UCLA, Georgia/South Carolina and UTEP/Houston; the real action, however, comes in non-conference play as Notre Dame hosts Michigan, Alabama welcomes Penn State, Miami takes on Ohio State in Columbus, and Florida State travels to Oklahoma. For latest 2010 College Football Week 2 Odds on these games and the rest of the weekend's engagements, visit Betonline.com today.

Miami Hurricanes vs Ohio State Buckeyes (-9.5): Both of these squads were impressive in their openers, albeit against lesser 2010 College Football Week 2 Oddscompetition, with the Hurricanes blasting Florida A&M 45-0 and Ohio State taking out Marshall 45-7. Miami, which held the Rattlers to eight first downs and 110 total yards, will find the going a little tougher this weekend in Columbus against the Buckeyes. Ohio State cranked out 529 yards against a team that returned 14 starters from a bowl winning squad as Terrelle Pryor completed 17-of-25 passes for 247 yards and three touchdowns.

Michigan Wolverines vs Notre Dame Fighting Irish (-4): Wolverines Head Coach Rich Rodriguez could put a little ice on his hot seat with a win this weekend, especially on the heels of a season opening victory against a quality Connecticut team. Michigan beat the Huskies 30-10 after quarterback Denard Robinson threw for 186 yards and a score while rushing for 197 yards and a touchdown. Notre Dame limited Purdue to 322 total yards in Brian Kelly's Irish debut, but only produced 358 of its own. Even though they are playing at home in this one, Kelly's troops may need to dig a little deeper if Robinson's performance last Saturday is indicative of things to come.

Penn State vs Alabama (-10.5): The marquee game in a weekend loaded with big time matchups. The Crimson Tide looked to be in mid-season form in their Saturday 'tune up' against San Jose State, even without Heisman Trophy winner Mark Ingram on the field. Nick Saban's squad produced 591 yards, 30 first downs, and four rushing touchdowns in dispatching the Spartans. Penn State also romped, scoring to a 44-14 victory over the Youngstown State Penguins, but was not as impressive in its win. The Nittany Lions got off to a slow start, trailing 7-3 after the first quarter; however, they went on to score 28 second half points. Joe Paterno's team figures to have a little stronger start in Tuscaloosa, despite the competition level, as there is no look ahead factor for them this weekend.
