2010 College Football Week 2 Picks

by Matt Foust on Wednesday, September 8th, 2010

2010 College Football Week 2 Picks: The college football season barrels into week two this Thursday night with two rivalry games and continues Saturday with four top 25 pairings. No. 22 Georgia meets SEC rival South Carolina (No. 24), No. 17 Florida State takes on No. 10 Oklahoma, No. 12 Miami squares off against No. 2 Ohio State, and No. 18 Penn State battles No. 1 Alabama in an action packed FBS weekend. 2010 College Football Week 2 Picks at Betonline.com have the home team favored in each of those games, even double digits in one case as the Crimson Tide are listed as a -11.5 against the spread favorite over the Nittany Lions.

Florida State Seminoles vs Oklahoma Sooners (-7.5): Oklahoma fans had better hope the Sooners were looking past Utah State 2010 College Football Week 2 Picksbecause if they were not, Saturday could be scary. The Aggies, which won all of four games last season, came into Norman and nearly escaped with a win after putting up 421 total yards and 24 points on the vaunted Sooners. Fortunately for Bob Stoops and the OU faithful, running back DeMarco Murray did come to play as he rushed for 218 yards and two touchdowns. FSU had a far easier time, wiping out FCS school Samford 59-6 in Jimbo Fisher's head coaching debut. The Seminoles racked up 481 yards in the easy win as quarterback Christian Ponder threw for 167 yards and four touchdowns.

2010 College Football Week 2 Picks: The Over is 13-4 over the last four years when the Sooners played as a home favorite coming off a win.

Georgia Bulldogs vs South Carolina Gamecocks (-3): South Carolina opened its season with an impressive win over a quality Southern Miss squad as the Gamecocks prevailed 41-13. Steve Spurrier got a big night from his quarterback, Stephen Garcia, who completed 16-of-23 passes for 193 yards while also rushing for 38 yards and two touchdowns. SC did give up 23 first downs and 404 yards in the win, though, which means they had better shore things up against the Bulldogs. Georgia also cruised in its opener, smashing the Ragin' Cajuns of Louisiana-Lafayette 55-7. Redshirt freshman Aaron Murray had a nice debut, throwing for 160 yards and three touchdowns despite the absence of leading receiver A.J. Green. Green, by the way, has still not been cleared to play as the NCAA investigates the star wideout's alleged selling of a used game jersey.

2010 College Football Week 2 Picks: The Under is 12-1 in the last 13 games of this SEC East series with the only Over coming last year when the two teams combined for 78 points.
