Florida State vs Oklahoma 2010 College Football Predictions, 2010 College Football Picks & 2010 College Football Odds: The Florida State Seminoles take on the Oklahoma Sooners tomorrow afternoon in a meeting between top 25 squads. The game is scheduled to kickoff at 3:30pm ET at Oklahoma Memorial Stadium and will be televised live on ABC. 2010 College Football Predictions at BetOnline.com have the Sooners listed as a -7 against the spread home favorite and the Over/Under set at 58.
Oklahoma went into its home opener last weekend as a -34.5 against the spread favorite, but barely escaped with the win
after a big offensive effort from Utah State. The Sooners did prevail 31-24, but saw the Aggies pile up 421 yards and 21 first downs as Diondre Borel threw for 341 yards and two touchdowns. Borel also aided the Oklahoma cause, though, by tossing three interceptions.
The Sooners Landry Jones did not stir images of Sam Bradford with his pedestrian outing (17-of-36 for 217 yards, two touchdowns, and two picks); however, running back DeMarco Murray showed some Adrian Peterson like flashes in route to a 218 yards, two touchdown afternoon. Wide receiver Ryan Broyles also had a big day, reeling in nine catches for 142 yards and two scores.
Florida State cruised past the FCS Samford Bulldogs in its first skirmish of the season, winning the game 59-6 in Tallahasse. The Seminoles manufactured 481 yards in just over 22 minutes of possession time as quarterback Christian Ponder completed 12-of-14 passes for 167 yards and four touchdowns in Jimbo Fisher's head coaching debut.
Florida State's defense, which had a great deal of difficulty containing the run last year, limited the Bulldogs to 77 rush yards in 38 carries. Samford finished the game with 300 total yards and 19 first downs in 37:14 of possession.
While the defensive effort had to be encouraging to Fisher, keeping Murray corralled in Norman will be a far more difficult task than keeping Samford's ground game under wraps. Everyone seems to be on the Seminoles band wagon in this one, but OU is favored by seven for a reason. Take the Sooners minus the points.
2010 College Football Predictions Betting Trend: Oklahoma is 5-0 straight up and the Over is 5-0 over the last five years when the Sooners played as a favorite coming off a game in which they scored between 29 and 35 points.
