The Vandals, which had their most successful season in over a decade last year (8-5), also scored a dominating win in their opener, thrashing FCS squad North Dakota 45-0 in Moscow. Idaho had 547 yards and 26 first downs in the victory, despite committing 12 penalties which totaled 110 yards.
Quarterback Nathan Enderle, who threw 22 touchdown passes last year, completed 24-of-37 passes for 311 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception in the win. Enderle did not impress with his legs, though, rushing six times for -25 yards.
