Virginia vs USC 2010 College Football Picks, 2010 College Football Odds & 2010 College Football Predictions: The 16th ranked USC Trojans will welcome the Virginia Cavaliers to Southern California tomorrow evening for a showdown at the Coliseum. The game is scheduled to get underway at 10:30pm ET in Los Angeles. 2010 College Football Picks, Odds & Predictions at Sportsbook.com have the Trojans listed as a -19.5 against the spread home favorite; the Over/Under is set at 51.5.
The Lane Kiffin era at USC got off to a good start, at least offensively, with the Trojans scoring a 49-36 win over the Hawai
i Warriors in Honolulu. Sophomore quarterback Matt Barkley led the barrage, which amounted to 524 yards, by completing 18-of-23 passes for 257 yards and five touchdowns. Barkley received a great deal of assistance from running back Mark Tyler, who ran for 154 yards and one touchdown in 17 carries.
Unfortunately for Trojan fans, Monte Kiffin's defense did not match the offense's play as Hawaii had its way at Aloha Stadium. The Warriors, which were led by quarterbacks Bryant Moniz and Shane Austin, racked up 31 first downs and 588 yards in the loss. Hawaii also scored on touchdown passes of 56, 65, and 30 yards.
Virginia also started anew last weekend as first year Head Coach Mike London guided the Cavaliers to a 34-13 win over his old team, the Richmond Spiders. London's squad went into the break with a narrow 14-10 lead, but pulled away with three second half touchdowns. Running back Keith Payne, who did not play last year, starred on offense, carrying the ball 16 times for 114 yards and four touchdowns.
Senior quarterback Marc Verica also played well in the win, accounted for 283 yards and one touchdown.
The Cavaliers defense gave up 333 total yards and 144 rush yards to the FCS Spiders, which is not a good sign for the team as it prepares to square off against Barkley and the high-powered Trojans.
These two teams hooked up in 2008 with USC coming away with a 52-7 victory in Charlottesville. The Trojans, led by quarterback MarK Sanchez, dropped 558 yards on the Cavs while easily covering as a -19 road favorite.
2010 College Football Odds Betting Trend: USC is 9-1 straight up and 7-3 against the spread over the last five seasons playing as a home favorite coming off an against the spread loss.
