The Baylor Bears will play host to the PAC-10's Washington State Cougars this Friday at 8:30pm ET. After last week's embarrassing effort against California, the Cougars probably cannot get to Waco, TX fast enough. College Football Pick odds at Looselines.com have the Bears as a +1 home underdog.
Last weekend Baylor rebounded from an opening week drubbing by Wake Forest to defeat Division I-AA Northwestern State 51-6. The Bears probably needed the lift and they might have a little bit of confidence going into this weekend's contest. They produced 537 yards of offense and held Northwestern State to just 190. Statistically, their showing against Wake Forest was mediocre at best, but they were really ruined by five turnovers.
Unlike Baylor, Washington State has no real positives to hang their hat on this season. They were pounded in their season opener by another Big 12 school, Oklahoma State, 39-13. And they followed that lackluster performance up with last week's 66-3 scorching by Cal.
New Head Coach Paul Wulff could not have envisioned a worse start to the season. His Cougars will need to produce more than their 183 yard per game average to take out Baylor.
Game Note: This game was orginally scheduled for 12:40pm ET on Saturday but was moved to Friday night due to concerns over Hurricane Ike.
College Football Pick Trend: Washington State is 3-7 straight up the last three years playing as a road team coming off a loss.
Looselines.com's College Football Pick for Washington State vs Baylor:
