Oklahoma State jumped a big hurdle last weekend in Stillwater, Houston vs Oklahoma State College Football Odds, Picks & Predictionsbeating the No. 13 Georgia Bulldogs 24-10. The Cowboys were favored by 5.5, but most pundits felt that the Bulldogs would win the game. It took Mike Gundy's club a little while to get going offensively, but his defense played nearly flawless football after the Dawgs opening touchdown drive.

Georgia managed just 257 yards against the Cowboys revamped defense (under new coordinator Bill Young). The Pokes also forced three costly Bulldog turnovers.

Oklahoma State's big three (Zac Robinson, Kendall Hunter, Dez Bryant) did not have an exemplary day, but they did more than enough to get the win, particularly in the second half. Robinson completed just 11 of his 22 passes for 135 yards, but he hit Bryant for two scores and he avoided any interceptions. Hunter had a yeoman-like 23 carry, 75 yard performance against a tough Georgia front seven.

Houston opened their season with a 55-7 cakewalk against the Northwestern State Demons. The Cougars drove up and down the field at will under the leadership of quarterback Case Keenum. The junior field general finished the day 23-of-30 for 359 yards and four touchdowns.

Houston racked up a total of 538 yards against the Demons defense, and all but 91 of that came through the air. Running back Charles Sims led the team in receiving with six catches for 128 yards and a touchdown while Brice Beall topped all Cougar rushers with 58 yards in nine carries.

The Cougars defense held the Demon's hapless offense to 263 yards for the game. Northwestern State contributed to their own demise with eight penalties and three turnovers.
