South Carolina vs Georgia College Football Picks, College Football Odds & College Football Predictions: The South Carolina Gamecocks and the Georgia Bulldogs open SEC play tonight with a meeting at Sanford Stadium in Athens, Georgia. The two SEC East rivals will kick things off at 7:00pm ET on ESPN2. Current college football picks at Sportsbetting.com have the Bulldogs listed as a -7.5 against the spread favorite.

South Carolina figured to be down this year after losing 11 starters South Carolina vs Georgia College Football Picks, Odds & Predictionsfrom last season's 7-6 squad, but their opening win at North Carolina State on September 3rd indicated that Steve Spurrier's team may be in the neighborhood of seven or more wins again.

The Gamecocks were not overly imrpessive on offense, amassing just 256 total yards and 16 first downs against the Wolfpack. Additionally, quarterback Stephen Garcia did not look like a significant upgrade over Chris Smelley, despite managing a decent game by completing 13-of-22 passes for 148 yards. However, South Carolina's defense more than made up for any offensive shortcomings in the 7-6 win at Raleigh.

The Gamecocks swarmed to the ball all night and they held NC State to a ridiculous 133 yards at Carter-Finley Stadium. First team ACC quarterback Russell Wilson looked average at best against coordinator Ellis Johnson's unit. He finished the night 12-of-23 for 74 yards.

South Carolina's opening effort is even more striking when one considers NC State's 2008 offensive finish. The Wolfpack averaged 30.2 points per game over their last five contests, which included a 41-10 win over UNC and a 38-28 win against Miami.

The Bulldogs did not get the kind of start to the season they had hoped for as they left Boone Pickens Stadium in Stillwater with a 24-10 loss around their necks.

Georgia's offense stormed out to a 7-0 lead with an impressive first quarter drive, but it did little else the remainder of the game. Oklahoma State's much maligned defense held the Dawgs to 257 yards and limited the rushing attack to just 3.2 yards per carry.

Matthew Stafford's replacement, quarterback Joe Cox, connected on just 15 of his 30 pass attempts for 162 yards. He did have a touchdown toss, but he countered it with a fourth quarter interception.

The Bulldogs defense had a nice game, though, holding the high-octane Pokes to just 307 yards and 24 points. They should have a much easy go of it tonight against a less-than-potent Gamecocks offense.

College Football Picks Betting Trend: The Under is 12-0 in the last 12 meetings between these two conference rivals.
