USC vs Ohio State College Football Odds, College Football Picks & College Football Predictions: The biggest match up of the weekend will take place this evening as the No. 3 USC Trojans visit the No. 8 Ohio State Buckeyes. Jim Tressel and the Buckeyes will have revenge on their minds after USC embarassed them 35-3 last year in Los Angeles. Kickoff in this highly anticipated game is set for 8:00pm ET at Ohio Stadium in Columbus (ABC). USC looked like a typical Trojans squad last weekend, pounding San Jose State 56-3 at the Los Angeles Coliseum. The Trojans rode a strong running game most of the day as Joe McKnight and Marc Tyler led the team to 342 yards on the ground. Pete Carroll's bunch finished the day with 620 total yards.

McKnight's 14 carry, 145 yard, two touchdown effort took any pressure off the shoulders of true freshman quarterback Matt Barkley. Although, Barkley's performance would indicate that he might be comfortable in about any situation. The Newport Beach native completed 15-of-19 passes for 233 yards and a touchdown.

USC's defense, despite the loss of eight starters from last year's group, had no trouble stymieing the Spartans. San Jose State barely cracked the 100 yard mark with 121, and they averaged a pathetic 0.3 yards per carry against the stout Trojans.

The Buckeyes, in contrast to USC, barely made it out of week one with a win as the Navy Midshipmen gave them all they could handle in Columbus last Saturday. Ohio State did escape with a 31-27 victory, but only after Middies quarterback Ricky Dobbs tossed an interception on a potential game tying two-point conversion, which Brian Rolle returned the distance.

Quarterback Terrelle Pryor led the offense to 363 total yards after completing 14-of-21 for 174 yards and a touchdown. The sophomore also had six carries for 30 yards and a score.

Ohio State's defense had difficulty controlling Navy's option attack, giving up 342 total yards. Dobbs threw for 156 and ran for 83 while accounting for four Midshipmen touchdowns. However, had the Buckeyes defense not forced three Navy turnovers, tonight's game might not mean as much.
