Callahan hopes and expects the crowd noise to be a factor against the Trojans.
“I know this. They (the Trojans) are going to come in, and they are going to try and audible and check. They do a lot of things at the line of scrimmage, so our fans, our fan base, our stadium; it has to be revved up ” Callahan said Sunday on his weekly TV show.
“It’s got to be amped up like it never has before to really try and diffuse those checks at the line of scrimmage,” Callahan said. “So, the louder, the better; and hopefully, this will be the loudest stadium ever in the history of Nebraska.”
The Trojans had an off-date for week-two following their pedestrian effort against Idaho in their opener on Sept 1. SC defeated Idaho 38-10 but looked sluggish the whole game. While the Trojans handily won the game they didn’t have the same zip expected of the nation’s top team. The Trojans failed to cover ATS as a -49 ½ point home favorite.
After picking up an easy 52-10 opening day SU and ATS (-21 ½) win and cover over Nevada Sept 1 the Huskers pulled out a hard fought 20-17 SU victory at Wake Forest last week. Nebraska did not cover as a -9 ½ point favorite at Wake Forest.
