2010 College Football Week 3 Predictions

by Matt Foust on Wednesday, September 15th, 2010

2010 College Football Week 3 Predictions: There are several quality college football matchups on this weekend's schedule, but the biggest would be a Saturday evening clash between the Iowa Hawkeyes and Arizona Wildcats. Both teams are presently ranked in the top 25 and each appears to have a chance to capture its respective conference title. 2010 College Football Week 3 Predictions at BetUS.com presently have the Hawkeyes listed as a -1.5 against the spread favorite. Taking place this Friday is another important non-conference tilt between the California Golden Bears and the Nevada Wolf Pack. Nevada, which is listed as a +3 home dog, will look to move into the AP Poll with an upset of the Bears.

Iowa Hawkeyes vs Arizona Wildcats (+3): The Hawkeyes tuned up for this contest by spanking in-state rival Iowa State 35-7 at2010 College Football Week 3 Predictions Kinnick Stadium. Iowa featured a balanced offensive attack, topping the 200 yard mark both on the ground and through the air as quaterback Ricky Stanzi threw for 204 yards and two touchdowns and running back Adam Robinson rushed for 156 yards and one score on 14 carries. The Hawkeyes figure to have a more difficult time moving the ball against Mike Stoops' team in Tucson. The Wildcats have allowed 354 total yards and eight points in wins over Toledo and FCS school Citadel. This should be a battle to the end as Iowa is well equipped to play on the road in a hostile environment and emerge with a win.

California Golden Bears vs Nevada Wolf Pack (+3): Most people predicted a down year for Cal coming into the season, but the Bears have looked impressive through two games, stomping UC Davis 52-3 in week one and Colorado 51-7 last weekend. It would appear the loss of Jahvid Best is not going to slow down Jeff Tedford's offense as quarterback Kevin Riley has throw for 455 yards and seven touchdowns. Nevada got some good press this summer and they have lived up to their billing thus far, scoring decisive wins over Eastern Washington and Colorado State. The Wolf Pack, which are led by elusive signal caller Colin Kaepernick, will want to make national TV statement against the Golden Bears. Cal could be walking into a hornet's nest on Friday night.
