West Virginia (1-1 SU, 0-1 ATS) will be looking to rebound from its humiliating loss to East Carolina in Week-2 when it visits Colorado Thursday night. This is a must win for the Mountaineers if they hope to be part of the national title picture this season. Coach Bill Stewart, who just signed a long term contract this week, by now, should have fixed what problems were ailing the Mountaineers against East Carolina. IN that game the Mountaineers only tallied 251 total yards of offense with only 72 of those through the air. With an extra week to prepare, the Mountaineers are expected to have fixed its passing game, an area that was non existent in the East Carolina loss. Stewart need the passing game to be effective in order to keep defenses from stacking the box in what has been a prolific running attack led by Heisman candidate quarterback Patrick White.
The Colorado defense is growing up and has been stingy against the run this season. If the West Virginia passing game isn’t working, the Buffaloes could prove to be trouble for the Mountaineers. In a ‘Black-Out’ game televised nationally on ESPN, Folsom Field, the fans will be raucous.
