East Carolina fell to 1-1 last weekend, losing 20-35 to West Virginia

The team went away from the ground game in the second half, despite trailing 20-21 going into the break. Quarterback Paul Pinkney ended up with 39 pass attempts, which is never a recipe for Pirates success.
ECU may find the going just as rough tomorrow as leading rusher Dominique Lindsay is doubtful against the Tar Heels. Additionally, UNC has allowed just 102 rush yards through their first two games.
North Carolina escaped East Hartford last Saturday with a 12-10 win over the UConn Huskies. Butch Davis' squad trailed 10-0 going into the fourth quarter but scored on a field goal, touchdown, and safety in the final frame to get the win.
The Tar Heels had just 16 first downs and 268 yards, but their defense held the Huskies to 13 and 196 respectively. UConn's ground game, which had 259 yards rushing in their week one win at Ohio, produced just 72 yards in the loss.
