Tulsa brought their record to 2-0 last weekend after shallacking the New Mexico Lobos 44-10 at University Stadium in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The Golden Hurricane offense appears to still be in top form, despite losing seven starters from a season ago, as they are averaging 40.5 points and 450.5 yards per game through their first two contests.

Todd Graham's offense displayed their wares against the Lobos, racking up 22 first downs and 489 yards. New quarterback G.J. Kinne completed 22-of-35 passes for 310 yards and four touchdowns. Kinne targeted mostly wide receivers Damaris Johnson and Slick Shelley as the two compatriots combined for 8 receptions, 166 yards, and two touchdowns.

The Golden Hurricane defense has also played well this season in shutting down Tulane and New Mexico. The Lobos had a particularly difficult time moving the ball against Tulsa last weekend, producing just 171 yards, six first downs, and one third down conversion.

The Sooners took out their frustrations from a shocking loss to BYU by destroying FCS school Idaho State 64-0 in Norman. Redshirt freshman quarterback Landry Jones filled in nicely for the injured Sam Bradford, completing 18-of-32 passes for 286 yards, three touchdowns, and an interception. Jones, along with Demarco Murray and Chris Brown, led the offense to 564 yards and 27 first downs. Murray and Brown combined for 166 rush yards and three touchdowns in 23 carries.

As good as the offense looked last Saturday, the Sooner defense looked better. The Bengals had just 44 yards, six first downs, and one third down conversion. Idaho State finished the game with -22 rush yards for a -0.7 yard per carry average.
