Florida State vs BYU College Football Odds, College Football Predictions & College Football Picks: The Seminoles could probably use another go at Jacksonville State after last weekend's horrendous performance against the Gamecocks, but instead they will have to face No. 7 BYU in Provo, Utah. The two teams will kick things off at 7:00pm ET tonight at Lavell Edwards Stadium. College Football Odds at Sportsbook.com have the Cougars listed as a -8 against the spread home favorite.

The Seminoles just escaped the most embarrassing of losses last weekend at Doak Campbell Stadium in Tallahassee, Florida, beating FCS school Jacksonville State 19-9. Bobby Bowden's troops needed two touchdowns with less than a minute in regulation to get by the Gamecocks. 

Florida State had 402 yards on the day, but managed just 78 of that on the ground. They also converted just five third downs in 14 opportunities and they had three turnovers. Quarterback Christian Ponder, thankfully for Seminoles fans, was part of the solution rather than the problem. The junior completed 22-of-35 passes for 324 yards with no interceptions.

Jacksonville State, led by former LSU quarterback Ryan Perrilloux, had 310 yards for the game, doing just enough to keep the self-destructive 'Noles at bay. The Gamecocks also did some imploding of their own, though, as they committed 11 penalties in the loss.

BYU notched its second win of the year, pasting Tulane 54-3 last weekend at the Superdome in New Orleans. The Cougars were hitting on all cylinders as they amassed 35 first downs, 206 rushing yards, and 321 passing yards. Bronco Mendenhall's squad really poured it on the Green Wave after the break, scoring five second half touchdowns.

Quarterback Max Hall displayed his typical accuracy, hitting on 24 of his 32 pass attemtps for 309 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception. Running back Bryan Kariya also had a big day, rushing 12 times for 63 yards and a score while catching two passes for 23 yards and a touchdown.

The Cougars defense held Tulane to 162 total yards, limited the run game to just 1.5 yards per carry, and forced four turnovers in the lopsided win.

College Football Odds Analysis: The Seminoles will need to score early to stay in this game, and they will need the Cougars to cough the ball up, perhaps, on more than one occasion. They will not be able to trade punches with BYU's balanced offensive attack as they did with Miami in week one.
