Nebraska vs Virginia Tech College Football Odds, College Football Predictions & College Football Picks: The No. 19 Nebraska Cornhuskers and the No. 13 Virginia Tech Hokies will square off at Lane Stadium in Blacksburg, Virginia this afternoon. The two teams, which met in Lincoln last year, are the only two ranked squads to meet head-to-head this weekend. Kickoff is set for 3:30pm ET and the game will be broadcast live on ABC. College Football Odds at Bookmaker.com have the Hokies listed as a -5 against the spread favorite. Nebraska improved to 2-0 last weekend after beating the Arkansas Head Coach Bo Pelini's 'Black Shirt' defense is starting to resemble units of old, but they have yet to be truly tested this season. The Red Wolves managed just 15 first downs and 274 yards against them and were unable to sustain drives, converting just two third downs on the day. Virginia Tech bounced back from their season opening loss to Alabama with a 52-10 pounding of the Marshall Thundering Herd in Blacksburg. Quarterback Tyrod Taylor had an impressive outing, completing 9-of-16 passes for 161 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception. He also had seven carries for 58 yards. Frank Beamer's squad finished the day with 26 first downs and 605 yards of offense. The team ran for 444 yards at an 8.4 yards per carry clip. Freshman running backs David Wilson (true) and Ryan Williams (redshirt) combined for 329 yards in just 28 carries and they also had four rushing touchdowns between them. The Hokies defense held Marshall in check all afternoon, limiting the Thundering Herd to 252 yards. Marshall did have mild success on the ground, though, rushing for 126 yards while averaging 4.5 yards per carry. Nebraska will be out for revenge this afternoon as the Hokies came into Lincoln last season and got a 35-30 win. The Huskers inability to contain Tyrod Taylor in that game sealed their fate. The then sophomore quarterback completed 9-of-15 passes for 171 yards and he also had 15 carries for 87 yards and a touchdown. College Football Odds Betting Trend: The Hokies are 1-4 against the spread and 3-2 straight up in their five games as a home favorite with a spread between 4 and 7.5. The Under is 4-1 in those games.
