Texas Tech vs Texas College Football Picks, College Football Predictions & College Football Odds: The game Texas fans have had circled since November 1st, 2008 is finally here as the Longhorns host the Texas Tech Red Raiders tonight at Texas Memorial Stadium in Austin. The Longhorns will get their chance to exact revenge at 8:00pm ET this evening in front of a national television audience on ABC. College Football Picks at BetUS.com do not see an upset happening in this meeting as Texas is listed as a -18.5 favorite against their Big 12 South rivals. The Red Raiders lost a great deal of talent during the off-season as The Owls were the Red Raiders latest victim falling 55-10 at Jones AT&T Stadium in Lubbock last Saturday. Texas Tech's vaunted offense racked up 28 first downs and 560 yards in the easy victory. New quarterback Taylor Potts completed 36 of his 57 pass attempts for 456 yards and an astonishing seven touchdowns. Potts, who led the Red Raiders to three fourth quarter touchdowns, leaned heavily on wideouts Tramain Swindall and Lyle Leong. The two combined for 15 catches, 240 receiving yards, and five touchdowns. Tech's defense had little trouble stopping the Owls depleted roster. Rice managed only 257 yards and rushed for just 1.7 yards per carry. The Longhorns looked like a team looking ahead in the first half of last week's game against Wyoming. Texas appeared frustrated in almost every facet of the game, particularly on offense. As a result they went into halftime with a meager three point lead against the far less talented Cowboys. Mack Brown's team awoke in the second half, though, and went on to hammer Wyoming 41-10. Colt McCoy completed 30-of-47 passes for 337 yards and he connected with three different receivers on touchdown strikes. The Heisman candidate also rushed for 44 yards and a touchdown. The Texas defense weathered the offense's first half slumber and they dominated the Cowboys in the second half. After the break Wyoming had two drives end on turnover on downs, four end with a punt, and one end with a fumble. Analysis: This game might be close for a quarter or so as both squads will be amped up; however, the superior talent on the Texas roster will manifest itself as the game wears on, much like it did last weekend. The Longhorns win this going away, covering the spread and making up for last year's last second defeat in Lubbock. College Football Picks Betting Trend: Texas Tech is 3-7 against the spread and straight up in their last 10 games as a road dog. seven starters from last year's offense left Lubbock. However, Mike Leach's squad has looked none the worse for wear in beating patsies North Dakota and Rice to open the 2009 season.
