LSU running back Charles Scott leads the SEC in rushing with 131 yards per game. In two games, Scott has rushed for 262 yards and four scores. LSU has used a two-quarterback system (Andrew Hatch and Jarrett Lee) and the duo has combined to connect on 33 of 59 passes for 402 yards and three scores. WR Brandon LaFell has been their favorite target, leading the team and ranking among the leaders in the SEC with 11 catches for 156 yards and two touchdowns.

Defensively, LSU has only surrendered 16 points this year, which includes allowing just three first half points. S Harry Coleman is tops on the team with 10 tackles. Tyson Jackson (36 tackles, 3.5 sacks in 2007) headlines the list of starters up front for the Tigers. The LSU linebacking corps will revolve around Darry Beckwith, who will occupy the middle for the Tigers. A second-team All-SEC pick in 2007, Beckwith had 65 tackles and 6.5 tackles for loss last year.

Auburn running back Ben Tate leads the team with 278 yards rushing and ranks 20th in Auburn history with 1,573 career yards. Senior Brad Lester had 148 yards this season and has pushed his career total to 1,548. They were the first pair of Auburn running backs to enter a season with more than 1,000 yards rushing each since Carnell Williams and Ronnie Brown in 2004. Chris Todd completed 21-of-31 passes for 248 yards in his first career start for Auburn Sept. 6 vs. Southern Miss.

Cornerback Jerraud Powers is off to a terrific start to the 2008 season, leading the Auburn defense with 18 tackles (13 solo), including a career-high eight Sept. 6 against Southern Miss. He also has an interception and two pass break-ups, and leads the team with four special teams tackles. All-American candidate Sen'Derrick Marks leads the SEC in tackles for loss with 5.5 this season. Antonio Coleman has had a sack in each game this season and is second on the squad with 12 tackles.

LSU chewed up the North Texas Mean Green for a 41-3 victory in Week 3. The Tigers failed to cover the 42-point spread, while the 44 points fell UNDER the posted total of 59.5.

Charles Scott carried the ball seven times for 102 yards and two touchdowns for the Tigers in that win.

A second-quarter field goal in Week 3 was all Auburn ended up needing in their 3-2 win over Mississippi State.

The Tigers didn't manage to cover the 10-point spread in that contest, while the combined score fell well UNDER the day's posted total (38.5).
