2010 College Football Week 4 Picks: The upcoming weekend typically marks one last non-conference brouhaha for most squads, and, despite a few big league matchups on the schedule, that is exactly what week four entails. This Saturday's agenda includes meetings between Temple and Penn State, Oregon State and Boise State, Miami and Pittsburgh, and West Virginia and LSU. Temple vs Penn State (-14): This would have been a laugher just a few short years ago, but Al Golden has transformed the Owls into a real football team. Yes, the line is 14 points and, yes, the Nittany Lions have won this in-state matchup by a combined 67 points over the last two seasons, but Temple is no longer a rummy. The Owls are 3-0 coming into this game and Penn State certainly looks more vulnerable than it has the previous five seasons. While the Lions defense is still strong, ranking 34th in the nation against the run (104.3 yards per game allowed) and ninth overall (12.7 points per game allowed), the Owls ground game could keep this close. Running back Bernard Pierce had a horrific game against Penn State last year, but he may find some redemption on Saturday.

Oregon State vs Boise State (-17): Oregon State is a quality football team and the program, under Head Coach Mike Riley, has pulled off its share of upsets; however, the Beavers are in a dangerous position this weekend. The Broncos, given their weaker WAC schedule, have few opportunities to impress the pollsters and this weekend represents one of those occasions, especially given the fact that OSU has already squared off against TCU, Boise's main BCS busting competition. Virginia Tech represented the biggest feather in the Broncos cap, but the luster of that victory lost some of its shine when the Hokies fell to FCS school James Madison. The Beavers can expect the Broncos best effort on Saturday.
