College Football Picks 2012 Week 4

michigan denard robinsonWhile there are a number of big games this weekend, the most noteworthy College Football Picks 2012 Week 4 match up between long time rivals Michigan and Notre Dame. Of course, it helps that both schools come into today’s game ranked as the Wolverines sit 19th in the AP Poll while the Irish check in a No. 22. Despite Michigan sitting a few spots higher in the rankings, the latest College Football Spreads are favoring Notre Dame at -5 against the spread.

Michigan Wolverines vs Notre Dame Fighting Irish (-5): Notre Dame fans might have cringed when this week’s college football picks were released. Some would think being a -230 moneyline favorite at home (69.6 win percentage implied probability) is a good thing, but in this case, it is not. The underdog has covered the spread in 14 of the last 16 meetings between these two squads while recording 11 straight up upsets. It is almost as if the odds makers are predetermining the winner when they put a line on Michigan/Notre Dame. Obviously perception is not reality when these two teams meet. Is that the case again this season? Notre Dame looks like the better team; the Irish are 3-0 and coming off an impressive double digit road victory against a ranked Michigan State team. Michigan, meanwhile, is 2-1 with really only one impressive showing and that came last weekend against a far inferior Massachusetts team. Everything points toward the hosting Irish being the victor, which means the Wolverines can probably chalk this one up as a win.
