Michigan State vs Wisconsin College Football Picks. Mark Dantonio's squad did finish the day with more first downs, more yardage, and a better third down conversion percentage than Notre Dame; however, they also had more turnovers. 

Quarterback Kirk Cousins had a solid day statistically, completing 23-of-35 passes for 302 yards and a touchdown, but he also cost his Spartans with a boneheaded throw late in the fourth quarter. Michigan State had the ball at the Notre Dame 18 with just over two minutes to play in regulation. On second down and 10 Cousins forced a throw that Irish safety Kyle McCarthy picked off and returned to the Notre Dame 20 yard line. 

Cousins' costly mistake took away, at the least, a game tying field goal opportunity.

The Wisconsin Badgers improved to 3-0 last Saturday, pounding Wofford 44-14 at Camp Randall Stadium. The Terriers were a welcome site to the Wisconsin faithful as the Fresno State Bulldogs nearly beat the Badgers the previous weekend. Bret Bielema's team needed double overtime and a critcial error on the part of Fresno's quarterback Ryan Colburn to escape with the win.

The Badgers had no such trouble with FCS Wofford, as the offense racked up 430 yards and the defense limited the Terriers to just 259. Quarterback Scott Tolzien had an efficient afternoon, completing 15-of-20 passes for 159 yards and two touchdowns. It was the rushing attack, however, that buried Wofford. Four Badgers ran for over 50 yards in the win, led by freshman Curt Phillips, who had 92 yards in just four carries.

Statistically, these two conference rivals are almost dead even through three games and their level of competition has been similar as well. This should be a hard fought ball game between two evenly matched squads. This game most likely comes down to turnovers.
