Alabama vs Arkansas 2010 College Football Picks, 2010 College Football Odds & 2010 College Football Predictions: One of the biggest matchups of the early season will take place tomorrow in Fayetteville as top ranked Alabama meets 10th ranked Arkansas. The two SEC West rivals are scheduled to kickoff at 3:30pm ET at Razorback Stadium; the game will be broadcast live on CBS. 2010 College Football Picks, Odds & Predictions at Sportsbook.com have the Crimson Tide listed as a -7 against the spread road favorite and the Over/Under set at 55.5.
Alabama has looked every bit its ranking through three games, beating San Jose State, Penn State, and Duke by an average of 38.3 points per game. The Crimson Tide had three turnovers last weekend and allowed Duke to rush for 146 yards on 36 carries but still beat the Blue Devils 62-13.
Running back Mark Ingram returned to the lineup after sitting out the Tide's first two games with a knee injury. The Heisman winner looked none the worse for wear as he rushed for 151 yards and two touchdowns on nine carries while quarterback Greg McElroy completed 14-of-20 passes for 258 yards and three touchdowns.
Head Coach Nick Saban is anticipating a far more difficult test this weekend, particularly for his defense, which will be charged with shutting down Razorbacks signal caller Ryan Mallett.
"We're going to play a great passing team next week, and a great quarterback," Saban said following Alabama's win at Duke. "We'll have to play a whole lot better than we did today."
Arkansas has also been impressive in its first three games, averaging 35.3 points per contest in wins over Tennessee Tech, Louisiana-Monroe, and Georgia.
The Razorbacks built a 24-10 lead last weekend against the Bulldogs in Athens, but nearly saw the game slip away as Georgia tied it up 24-24 with just 3:55 left in regulation. Mallett, who completed 21-of-33 passes for 380 yards and three touchdowns, came to the rescue, though, with a 40 scoring strike to Greg Childs to give Arkansas a 31-24 victory.
Alabama has taken it to Arkansas the last three years, smashing the Razorbacks by an average of 22 points per game in that span. The last two meetings have been especially lopsided with the Tide winning 14-49 in Fayetteville in 2008 and 35-7 last year in Tuscaloosa. Mallett had no success working against Saban's defense last September, completing just 12 of his 35 pass attempts for 160 yards, one touchdown, and one interception.
2010 College Football Picks Betting Trend: The Crimson Tide is 7-2 against the spread and 9-0 straight up over the last three years playing as a road favorite coming off a win.
Alabama Crimson Tide -7 (-110), Over 55.5 (-110), -300 (Moneyline)
Arkansas Razorbacks +7 (-110), Under 55.5 (-110), +250 (Moneyline)
