Sophomore quarterback Ryan Katz had a pedestrian 142 yards after completing 15-of-26 passes, but he did throw two touchdowns (three and four yards) to zero interceptions. As expected, Jacquizz Rodgers carried the offense, rushing 24 times for 142 yards and two scores.
The Beavers defense had difficulty stopping the Cardinals (453 total yards), which averaged 7.6 yards per pass and 4.2 yards per carry. However, the unit did force two critical turnovers, which proved to be the difference in the game.
Boise State had a week off after its season opening win against Virginia Tech and the respite proved unfortunate for Wyoming. The Cowboys took one on the chin from the Broncos in Laramie last weekend as Chris Petersen's squad came away with a 51-6 victory, easily covering the 23 point spread.
Hesiman candidate Kellen Moore had another terrific outing, despite tossing a rare interception. The junior passer completed 20-of-30 passes for 370 yards and two touchdowns in leading the Broncos to 32 first downs and 648 total yards.
Not to be outdone, Boise's defense limited Wyoming to seven first downs and 135 yards for the game. The Broncos also held the Cowboys to -21 rush yards on 28 carries.
