The Wildcats defense played well against the Hawkeyes, yielding just 338 yards in 37:56. The offense's failure to sustain drives eventually led to the defense's downfall, though, as Iowa put together a 14 play, 74 yard touchdown drive that took up 8:31 of the fourth quarter.
Oregon State suffered just the fifth loss in their last 21 home games as No. 14 Cincinnati got a 28-18 win at Reser Stadium last Saturday. The Bearcats offense produced 408 yards as quarterback Tony Pike aired it out to receivers D.J. Woods and Mardy Gilyard. The pair combined for 16 catches, 182 yards, and two touchdowns in the win.
The Beavers rushing attack was held in check by the Cincinnati defense as star tailback Jacquizz Rodgers managed just 73 yards in 20 carries. Quarterback Sean Canfield completed 29-of-45 passes for 240 yards and an interception.
Oregon State got a 19-17 win when these two schools met in Tucson last year. Rodgers had just four carries for 20 yards in that meeting due to a first half injury.
