The Louisville Cardinals and UConn Huskies will clash Friday night in a major BIG EAST battle at Papa John’s Stadium in Louisville, Kentucky. Both teams have momentum with each coming off big wins over foe from the BIG 12 Conference last week.

Louisville moved to 2-1 on the season with an impressive 38-29 win over Kansas State on Sept. 17. Redshirt freshman running back Victor Anderson was impressive in just his third career game, rushing for 176 yards and three touchdowns, as the Cardinals rushed for 303 yards and held the ball for more than 40 minutes. Quarterback Hunter Cantwell was efficient going 22-for-33 for 274 yards and a pair of scores. After falling behind, 7-0, the Cardinals scored 20 unanswered points.
The Huskies, now 4-0 on the season for the second consecutive year, won for the 10th-straight time at home. Junior tailback Donald Brown scored on a three-yard run with 6:04 remaining in the fourth quarter and the Connecticut defense held Baylor on fourth down with less than a minute to play as the Huskies hung on to defeat the Bears, 31-28, Friday evening at Rentschler Field.
UConn fell short as a -13 chalk favorite against Baylor while Louisville covered the 6-point chalk by defeating Kansas State 38-29 SU in Papa John’s Stadium. Louisville is 2-1 SU and 1-1 ATS while UConn is 4-0 SU but only 1-2 ATS in board listed games.
Friday’s game is the fifth meeting between UConn and Louisville and the Cardinals lead the series by a 3-1 count. Lousville won the first three meetings between the schools with the first coming in 2000 (41-22 in Louisville) as the Huskies were beginning their transition as a FBS team.
