Iowa vs Penn State College Football Predictions, College Football Picks & College Football Odds: The Iowa Hawkeyes kick off their conference season tonight at Beaver Stadium in State College, Pennsylvania. It is also the first Big 10 game of the season for the hosting Nittany Lions. The two rivals will clash at 8:00pm ET on ABC. Iowa moved to 3-0 on the season with a convincing 27-17 win over a quality Arizona team last Saturday. The Hawkeyes accumulated 338 yards and 19 first downs, but, more importantly, they controlled the clock for 37:56. Junior quarterback Ricky Stanzi had a servicable outing, completing 20-of-32 passes for 205 and a pick. Head Coach Kirk Ferentz got a big performance from freshman running back Adam Robinson, who will probably have a significant role in today's meeting with the Lions. Robinson had 18 carries for 101 yards and two touchdowns against a sound Wildcats defense.

The Hawkeyes defense held Mike Stoops squad to 253 yards and eight first downs. Arizona did, however, rack up 148 rush yards (5.9 yards per carry).

Penn State also advanced their record to 3-0 last weekend, smoking Temple 31-6 at Beaver Stadium. The Nittany Lions stonewalled the Owls offense, limiting them to just 205 total yards. Temple managed just 46 yards on the ground and those came at a paltry 1.6 yards per carry rate.

Quarterback Daryl Clark completed 16-of-26 for 167 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception in the win. Running back Evan Royster starred for the team, carrying the ball 19 times for 134 yards and a score.

Today's game has all the makings of a low scoring affair as the Hawkeyes are yielding just 12 points per game and the Lions are giving up a mere 6.2. Iowa will need to establish a ground game in order to be successful, but that may be easier said than done against a squad that is allowing just 46.3 rush yards per game.

College Football Predictions Betting Trend: The Hawkeyes are 4-1 against the spread and straight in their last five visits to Happy Valley. The Nittany Lions are 0-2 against the spread and straight upthe last two times they have been a home favorite with a spread between 8 and 10.5 in the month of September.
