Heisman Trophy 2010: Michigan's sophomore quarterback Denard Robinson might be considered the 2010 Heisman Trophy front runner by TV's talking heads, but oddsmakers at online sportsbook BetUS.com list 2009 Heisman winner Mark Ingram as the front runner, having posted +200 betting odds that he wins. Robinson is second best at +350 odds according to the BetUS Heisman board.
Ingram had a good game in Alabama's 24-20 win Week-4 win while running against a good Arkansas defense. Ingram rushed for 160 yards on 24 carries for a 6.5 yards per carry average. Ingram also hauled in two passes for 27 total yards. The Alabama starting tailback will be challenged for a second week in a row when the Tide host seventh ranked Florida in Week-5.
Robinson was on his way to having a huge game in Michigan's 65-21 Week-5 victory over Bowling Green when he had to exit in the first quarter after a slight knee injury. Robinson rushed for 129 yards and two touchdowns on five carries and was 4-for-4 in passing for 60 yards. Robinson will return to play this week when the Wolverines open BIG TEN play at Indiana.
Ohio State's Terrelle Pryor's odds of winning the 2010 Heisman Trophy is fourth best on the BetUS.com Heisman board at +400 odds. The big Ohio State quarterback had a good game versus an overmatched Eastern Michigan team by completing 20 of 26 passes for 224 yards and four touchdowns, and ran for 104 yards and a touchdown on seven carries, and caught a 20-yard touchdown pass. Pryor and the Buckeyes enter BIG TEN play when they travel to Illinois this Saturday.
Rounding out the top-5 on the BetUS.com Heisman board is Boise State's Kellen Moore. Of course the rap on Moore is that he faces poor competition with the Broncos part of the weaker Western Athletic Conference. In Boise State's Week-5 victory over Oregon State, Moore threw for 288 yards and three touchdowns.
