Today's battle between the Tigers and Vols looks to be a classic offense vs. defense showdown. Under offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn, Auburn's offense is cranking out numbers like War Eagle has never seen while Tennessee is hanging its hat on solid defense, coordinated by coach Lane Kiffin's father, Monte.

Auburn quarterback Chris Todd ranks second in the nation in yards per completion (16.32) and sixth nationally in passing efficiency (171.05). His 11 touchdown passes are tied for third most in the NCAA. Auburn has two of the nation's top 31 rushers, including two of the top four in the SEC. Senior Ben Tate, who ranks ninth in Auburn history with 2,371 career rushing yards, averages 103.0 yards rushing per game, which is third in the league and 17th nationally. Freshman Onterio McCalebb is fourth in the SEC and 31st nationally, averaging 91.3 yards rushing per game. Darvin Adams has emerged as Auburn's top target downfield, leading the team in catches (20), receiving yards (334) and touchdown receptions (five).

For the Volunteers on defense, Janzen Jackson  has started three games at free safety and registered 12 tackles, a pass break-up and a fumble recovery while quickly earning a reputation as a fearless and bruising tackler. Eric Berry snagged his 13th career interception vs. Florida, making him the active career leader in the FBS. Berry has been among UT's top three tacklers in three of four games and posted double-digit tackle efforts vs. UCLA and Florida. He currently ranks ninth in the SEC in tackles and first on the team with 31 (7.8 per game). He is also leading the Vols in special teams tackles with five. Rico McCoy tied for the team lead with eight tackles including a shared tackle for loss vs. Ohio.

College Football Picks: Who will win this game? We recommend Tennessee -2 1/2.
