College Football Odds Week 6: The landscape of the Top 25 could change dramtically this week as the SEC conference schedule really hits its stride, producing several key week 6 match ups. The top ranked Florida Gators face No. 4 LSU in Baton Rouge, the No. 3 Crimson Tide will be in Oxford to take on No. 20 Ole' Miss, and No. 17 Auburn heads to Fayetteville to challenge the Razorbacks. For the latest College Football Odds Week 6 in these critical SEC battles as well as the full slate of college football action visit Bookmaker.com today.

No matter which teams win this week, the SEC standings, and thus the Top 25, is headed for a major shakeup. Follow College Football Odds Week 6closely because this could get confusing. First, the Gators (-8.5) meet the Tigers in Baton Rouge. A Florida loss opens the door for a new number one (most likely Texas, which faces Colorado this weekend), but it also, potentially, leaves the top spot open in the SEC West standings. The most likely candidate to fill that position? The newly ranked South Carolina Gamecocks. Steve Spurrier's squad is presently listed as a -11.5 favorite, playing host to the Kentucky Wildcats. Did anyone envision that scenario? South Carolina sitting in first in the SEC East at 5-1 (2-1) six weeks into the college football season? No, not a soul on earth envisioned that scenario.

If the Tigers lose, not only does their No. 4 ranking go bye-bye, so does their hold on the top spot in the SEC East (potentially). They currently sit in first place as a result of their 3-0 conference record. In the event of an LSU loss, and let's admit it, if Tim Tebow is healthy that is a strong possibility, Alabama most likely moves into first place. However, the Crimson Tide (-6.5) are not facing Slippery Rock U this weekend, they are taking on No. 20 Mississippi in Oxford. There is a prospective or potential loss there and should it happen, what happens to the standings in the East? Well, the door would open for Auburn (-2.5), yes, Gene Freaking Chizek's No. 17 Auburn, which takes on Arkansas in Fayetteville. If the Tigers can take out the Hogs, they would be 6-0 and 3-0 in SEC play. Again, though, the opponent is not a push-over.

So, what happens in the East if LSU loses, Alabama loses, and Auburn loses? Well, LSU would remain in first with a 5-1 overall mark and a 3-1 conference record. It would remain a crap shoot behind the Tigers with Alabama at 5-1 (2-1), Auburn at 5-1 (2-1), and Ole Miss at 4-1 (2-1).

In summary, No. 1 or No. 4 will lose this week and No. 3 or No. 20 will lose this week. Regardless of which ranked opponents lose those match ups, No. 17 or No. 25 stand to benefit greatly should they beat conference foes that both possess 2-2 records and 0-2 league marks. Welcome to the 2009 college football season.
