2010 College Football Week 6 Odds

by Matt Foust on Tuesday, October 5th, 2010

2010 College Football Week 6 Odds: Some major college football developments took place last weekend with conference action beginning in earnest. Oregon drilled Stanford at Autzen Stadium, which resulted in the Ducks leap frogging Boise State in both the AP and Coaches Polls, Alabama smashed Florida in Tuscaloosa, and Texas, after losing to Oklahoma in the Red River Rivalry, fell out of the rankings for the first time since Washington crossed the Delaware. 2010 College Football Week 6 Odds at Sportsbook.com brings fans another great slate of conference clashes, including Nebraska/Kansas State, USC/Stanford, Alabama/South Carolina, and Michigan State/Michigan.

Michigan State vs Michigan (-4.5): These two in-state rivals come into this game with perfect 5-0 records and ranked inside the2010 College Football Week 6 Odds top 20 in the AP Poll. They are also coming off of relatively close calls against conference opponents as the Spartans took out Wisconsin 34-24 in East Lansing and the Wolverines beat Indiana 42-35 in Bloomington. Michigan State got a warmup test against the Badgers strong rushing attack on Saturday as the Spartans saw John Clay and company rush for 165 yards on 31 carries; they will face a completely different attack this weekend, though, in Michigan's Denard Robinson. Robinson leads the nation in rushing with 905 yards and he is averaging a staggering 9.23 yards per carry. The sophomore quarterback also has the fourth best passer rating in the nation at 179.97.

USC Trojans vs Stanford (-10): The Trojans fell from the rankings this week after losing at home to the Washington Huskies while the Cardinal dropped from ninth in the AP Poll all the way to 16th with a 31-52 loss at Oregon. Revenge is in order for USC here with a 21-55 Stanford victory last season, no doubt, fresh in the minds of the Trojans; however, the Cardinal appear to be the better team. The Trojans have yet to slow any of the decent offenses that they have faced this season and they have yet to face an offense like the one they will encounter Saturday in Palo Alto. Yes, Jake Locker is a great athlete, but he is not the same kind of passer as Andrew Luck. The Cardinal have not scored fewer than 31 points this season and they have given up over 30 on just one occasion. This is not your older brother's Pac 10; the Cardinal roll in this one.
