Oklahoma State vs Louisiana-Lafayette 2010 College Football Odds, 2010 College Football Predictions & 2010 College Football Picks: The Oklahoma State Cowboys will travel to Lafayette, Louisiana tomorrow for a non-conference meeting with the Ragin Cajuns of Lousiana Lafayette. Friday night's Big 12/Sun Belt showdown is scheduled to get underway at 9:00pm ET at Cajun Field; it will be broadcast live on ESPN. 2010 College Football Odds, Predictions & Picks at Sportsbook.com have the Cowboys listed as a -24 against the spread road favorite and the game total set at 62.
Oklahoma State maintained its perfect record last week, beating Big 12 South rival Texas A&M 38-35 in Stillwater. The
Cowboys offense had its worst performance of the season after posting 21 first downs and 351 total yards. The Kendall Hunter led rushing attack was particularly ineffective, accounting for 67 yards on 26 carries, which led to the Pokes holding the ball a paltry 21:28.
Quarterback Brandon Weeden also had his worst outing of the season, completing 28-of-42 passes for 284 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions. Weeden, who has completed at least 72 percent of his passes in three of the Cowboys four games, still ranks fifth nationally, though, with a 314.8 yards per game average.
Despite the mediocre offensive showing, Mike Gundy's squad prevailed thanks to the defense capitalizing a sloppy effort from Aggies quarterback Jerrod Johnson. Johnson threw for 409 yards and five touchdowns, but he accounted for all five of A&M's turnovers, including three in the second half.
Lousiana-Lafayette evened its record at 2-2 last weekend after taking out Sun Belt rival North Texas 28-27 in Denton. The Ragin Cajuns, which had eight fewer first downs and 27 fewer yards than the Mean Green, capitalized on two North Texas turnovers, one which was returned 40 yards for a second quarter touchdown.
Junior quarterback Chris Masson played well in the one point victory, throwing for 310 yards and two scores to bring his season touchdown total to five. Lafayette's ground game was anemic, though, amassing 41 yards on 25 carries for a 1.6 yards per rush average.
Tomorrow night's game marks the Ragin Cajuns fourth meeting with a Big 12 school since 2008. Rickey Bustle's squad is 0-3 in the other three contests, losing to Kansas State twice (45-37 2008, 17-15 2009) and Nebraksa once (55-0 last year).
College Football Predictions Betting Trend: The Ragin Cajuns are 0-6 straight up and 1-5 against the spread as a home underdog with a total of 54.5 or more going back to October of 2003.
Oklahoma State Cowboys -24 (-110), Over 62 (-110)
Lousiana-Lafayette Ragin Cajuns +24 (-110), Under 62 (-110)
