Ohio State vs Nebraska Spread 2011 CFB Predictions Week 6: What might have been…will have to wait. Saturday's meeting between Ohio State and Nebraska (8:00pm ET, ABC) looked like a great game back in August, but now it appears to be standard college football fare between two tradional powers that lack punch. Nebraska has shown more thus far, though, and, as a result, comes into the contest as a -11 against the spread home favorite. Nebraska went into its first Big Ten Conference game with a 4-0 record, a mistake prone quarterback, and a leaky defense.Ohio State vs Nebraska Spread 2011 CFB Predictions Week 6 The Huskers left the contest, a week five meeting at fourth ranked Wisconsin, with their first loss as Taylor Martinez and an ill prepared defense wilted under lights at Camp Randall Stadium. Martinez completed 11-of-22 passes for 176 yards and three interceptions and he rushed for just 61 yards on 20 carries while the Black Shirts gave up 27 first downs and 486 yards to the Badgers well-rounded offense. Quarterback Russell Wilson and running back Montee Ball starred in the game as they combined for 183 rush yards and five rushing touchdowns; Wilson also threw for 255 yards and two scores.

Fortunately for the Huskers beleaguered defense, the Buckeyes offense presents few of the challenges that Wilson and the Badgers bring to the table. Ohio State ranks 67th and 91st in the FBS in yards (369) and points per game (23.8) respectively.

The Buckeyes quarterback combination of Joe Bauserman and Braxton Miller has thrown eight touchdowns to just two interceptions, but they are completing 51.3 percent of their passes. The two passers were particularly poor last weekend in a 10-7 home loss to Michigan State. Miller completed 5-of-10 passes for 56 yards and one interception while Bauserman connected on 7-of-14 passes for 87 yards and one touchdown.

While Nebraska's defense might get a reprieve this weekend, Martinez and the offense will not. Ohio State, for all its offensive woes, can still play defense. The Buckeyes ranks fifth nationally in yards per game allowed (262.2) and 11th in points per game allowed (14.6).

The Huskers have been an against the spread nightmare this season, which makes them almost unplayable at this point; however, given the present state of Ohio State football, Nebraska should improve to 5-1 overall and 1-1 in league play tomorrow night.
