against the Miami Hurricanes. The Panthers, which managed just 11 first downs and 232 yards against Miami, tagged the Panthers for 21 first downs and 469 yards on Saturday, despite the absence of running back Dion Lewis.

Lewis came into the season receiving a fair amount of Heisman hype after his outstanding freshman campaign, but Graham has been the better player through four games. Lewis, who has been dealing with some nagging injuries, has 143 rush yards on 43 attempts (3.0 ypc) while Graham has tallied 492 yards on five carries (9.5 ypc).
Notre Dame, which comes into this game with a 2-3 record, snapped a three game skid last weekend by beating Boston College 31-13 in Chestnut Hill. The Notre Dame defense turned in one of its best performances of the season, limiting BC to 13 first downs and 270 yards, including just five rush yards on 23 carries. The Eagles also aided the Irish by committing 12 penalties which totaled 120 yards.
The Panthers have won two in a row in this series by a combine eight points. Pittsburgh has also won the last two meetings in South Bend, scoring a 36-33 victory in 2008 and a 41-38 win in 2004.
