Ohio State Buckeyes vs Wisconsin Badgers (+4): The Buckeyes moved to No. 1 in both the AP and Coaches Polls this week after
Alabama's fall at South Carolina. Ohio State will have to fight to keep its top dog status on Saturday as it faces a tough Badgers team at Camp Randall Stadium in Madison. Wisconsin has just one loss this season and that came on the road against 13th ranked Michigan State. Jim Tressel's squad has won three in a row over Wisconsin, though, and it is 3-1 in its last four road games against the Badgers. There are plenty of stars on both teams, including Heisman candidate Terrelle Pryor, but this game will be decided in the trenches. Ohio State's defense ranks fourth in the nation against the run (78 yards per game allowed) while Wisconsin's John Clay powered rushing attack churns out 240.8 yards per contest (ranks 11th in the country).
Texas Longhorns vs Nebraska Cornhuskers (-9.5): Coming into the season most people would have projected Texas as the favorite in this conference clash, but through five games, Nebraska has proved to be the far superior team. The Longhorns have lost two games in a row while the Huskers are 5-0 and winning by an average of 28.8 points per game. Nebraska's Taylor Martinez leads the nation in rushing touchdowns at 12 and the freshman quarterback is also averaging 147.4 rush yards per game (fourth best in FBS) at a staggering 10.8 yards per clip (best in the nation). Texas defense ranks 19th in rush yards per game allowed (104), but it will face its stiffest test to date in Martinez and the rest of the Huskers backfield. The Longhorns offense, which has struggled to move the ball this season (71st in yards per game at 360), also faces a difficult charge in trying to overcome Nebraska's defense. Bo Pelini's squad presently ranks fourth in the nation in points per game allowed (12.8).
