College Football Odds Week 7: The conference season hits full stride this weekend with a heavy slate of critical league meetings between some of the top ranked teams in the country. No. 20 Oklahoma and No. 3 Texas will square off at the Cotton Bowl, No.4 Virginia Tech and No. 19 Georgia Tech will clash in Atlanta, and No. 22 South Carolina will take on the No. 2 Alabama in Tuscaloosa. For the latest odds on these games and the entire lineup of College Football Odds Week 7 visit Bookmaker.com today. Oklahoma vs Texas (-3.5): The Longhorns (5-0, 2-0) may have looked past Colorado last weekend anticipating Saturday's Texas enters the Red River Rivalry banged up in the backfield as running backs Tre' Newton and Vondrell McGee both suffered injuries in the win over the Buffaloes. Colt McCoy may not be able to make up the difference should those two be unable to play; McCoy has accounted for just 58 rush yards through fives games (1.7 yards per carry). The senior passer led the team in rushing a season ago with a total of 561 yards (4.1 ypc). Saturday's game will be critical to the Longhorns Big 12 title and National Championship hopes. A loss would, most likely, eliminate them from the BCS discussion, and it would, most definitely, reduce their chances of winning the Big 12 Championship. After Oklahoma, the Longhorns face Missouri and Oklahoma State on the road, making the next three games their most difficult stretch of the season. A win this weekend is imperative for Mac Brown and company. Oklahoma (3-2, 1-0) comes into this contest looking worse than it has in several seasons. The defense has been stout, holding teams to just 8.4 points per game, but the offense has been a mere shadow of its former self. Yes, Sam Bradford has been out the majority of the season, but even with the Heisman winner under center the offense has not produced the kind of point totals that many envisioned. Bradford did return to the lineup last weekend, leading OU past Baylor 33-7 in Norman. The 33 points were nice, but the Sooners led just 14-7 at the break. They also racked up 592 yards, which typically translates into 45 to 50 points. The Sooners entered the season with their usual BCS Championship aspirations, that dream has been dashed; however, this team still has a lot to play for. A fourth consecutive Big 12 title is still a possibility as is a BCS Bowl game. Like the Longhorns, though, they have a tough line up of games on the horizon as they travel to both Kansas and Nebraska in the next three weeks. A loss this weekend and Oklahoma can all but kiss their Big 12 hopes goodbye. A lot is at stake here for both teams, as there usually is when these two squads mix it up, which makes this the biggest game of the College Football Odds Week 7 matchups. showdown with the Sooners. Sure, Texas won the game 38-14, but they were not overly impressive in doing so. In fact, they were so lackluster that Alabama jumped them in the polls after beating Ole' Miss 22-3. That move, however, probably gives too much credence to a suspect Rebels squad, but that is a subject for another day.
