2010 College Football Predictions Week 7

2010 College Football Predictions Week 7: There are some very interesting college football matchups in Week-7 of the 2010 season, but only two games will be played between top-25 teams. However, there are several great looking games between top-25 teams playing teams,on the fringe, looking to break in with signature wins.

2010 College Football Predictions Week 7Ohio State (6-0, 2-0 BIG TEN) puts its number-one ranking on the line this Saturday (Oct. 16) when it travels to play No. 18 Wisconsin (5-1, 1-1) in a crucial BIG TEN battle for both schools. SPORTSBOOK.com lists the Buckeyes as 4-chalk favorites for this game with a posted total of 49 points. Here I predict a game that will be dominated by defenses resulting in a low scoring game. The best play – UNDER 49. I will try to come back with a side pick on game day that can be seen in my full game preview.

With Alabama's loss at South Carolina last week, the SEC West is now wide open. No. 7 Auburn, undefeated at 6-0 and 3-3 in league play, hosts No. 12 Arkansas, who at 4-1, only has the one conference loss, that to Alabama in Week-5. The Razorbacks will present a stiff challenge to Auburn, a team whose defense has sprouted a few leaks. Arkansas quarterback Ryan Mallett should have a field day if left untouched in the pocket. SPORTSBOOK.com has Auburn as a 4-point favorite in this one. I like the Hogs to cover +4 as a road underdog. Arkansas has won their last two meetings at Auburn and has defeated the Tigers in three of the last four years.

Michigan has dropped from the top-25, but with a win over No. 15 Iowa on Saturday, could find itself back in the rankings. The Wolverines are listed as 3 1/2-chalk favorites on the SPORTSBOOK board for this one with a 53 1/2 total. Iowa is going to bring some serious defense to this game. I like the Hawkeyes covering +3 1/2 in the Big House.

Illinois has got some serious mo-jo going on right now after their 33-13 road victory over Penn State up in Happy Valley in Week-6. The Fighting Illini, who covered as +9 road dogs, remain road warriors again this week when they travel to play No. 13 Michigan State at East Lansing. The Spartans also flexed some road-muscle in Week-7 by beating Michigan in Ann Arbor. The Spartans are favored by -7 in this one. Illinois will be coming in with lots of confidence but Michigan State seems to be hitting on all cylinders right now. I like the Spartans -7.
