Kansas State vs Kansas 2010 College Football Picks: The Kansas Jayhawks have had a week off to get over their embarrassing Week-5, 55-7 loss to Bayor in their BIG 12 opener before hosting their arch-rivals, Kansas State Wildcats, tonight in Lawrence, in a nationally televised game on FSN (7:45 PM Eastern).
SPORTSBOOK.com lists Kansas State as 3-chalk road favorites versus the KU with a posted total of 50 1/2-points. KU started its season on a low, by dropping its opener in new head coach Turner Gill's debut, to North Dakota State, a FCS level program. Kansas then stunned everybody by coming back the next week with a 28-25 victory over, then ranked, Georgia Tech at home. Since that time however, the Jayhawks lost at Southern Miss 16-31 and defeated New Mexico State 42-16. The Jayhawks are 2-2 ATS while three of their games have gone OVER the posted total.
Kansas State started its 2010 campaign by going 4-0, and had impressive victories over UCLA and Iowa State in that span while also picking up wins over Missouri State and Central Florida. The Wildcats suffered a huge setback in Week-6 by losing last Thursday to Nebraska in front of their home crowd 13-48.
It will be interesting to see how these two teams rebound following their most recent debacles. After all, KU and KSU were defeated by combined score of 103-20 in their losses to Baylor and Nebraska. At least Nebraska was a top-10 program, compared to Baylor, a team that's gone 14-98 since joining the BIG 12.
