Ohio State vs Purdue College Football Picks, College Football Predictions & College Football Odds: The Buckeyes of Ohio State will attempt to lasso their fourth consecutive conference win this Saturday as they meet Big Ten rival Purdue at Ross-Ade Stadium in West Lafayette, Indiana. Jim Tressel's squad assumed first place in the standings with a 31-13 win over Wisconsin last weekend. The Boilermakers, meanwhile, will try to snap a five game losing streak. Kickoff in this conference clash is set for 12:00pm ET; it will be televised live on the Big 10 Network. Ohio State improved to 5-1 last Saturday, beating the Badgers in rather unconventional fashion. Fourteen of the Buckeyes 31 points came as a result of defensive scores and another seven was added on a kickoff return for a touchdown. Despite the lopsided score, Tressel's offense struggled, amassing just 184 yards and eight first downs. Unfortunately for the Buckeyes, that has been the rule rather than the exception.

Coach Tressel indicated that his team, and the coaching staff, have not adapted well, at least offensively, on game days.

"Where I really think we need to get better preparing from an offensive standpoint is understanding that what we study and prepare for all week long may not be what we are going to get," Tressel said.

The Boilermakers got the Danny Hope era off to a good start with a 52-31 win over Toledo, but it has been all downhill since. Purdue has lost five straight entering Saturday's tilt with Ohio State, including two in a row against Big Ten rivals (Northwestern, Minnesota). The slump can largely be attributed to a pourous defense that is yielding an average of 30.5 points and 410.2 yards per game.

Hope's Boilermakers have also doomed themselves with some of the worst ball security in college football. Purdue is averaging 3.3 turnovers per game this season. That is certainly a trend the team will need to reverse if they are to have a chance against the oppotunistic Buckeyes.
