College Football Point Spreads 2011 Week 8: There are only three top 25 matchups on the college football board this week, but fret not pigskin bettors, there are a still an abundance of wagering opportunites and no shortage of intriguing games. Two games that should draw considerable interest are Oklahoma State at Missouri and USC at Notre Dame. The Cowboys will aim to keep their perfect record intact while the Irish look to keep things rolling against a Trojans squad coming off, perhaps, its best performance of the season.
Oklahoma State Cowboys vs Missouri Tigers (+7): While Texas' previously overvalued reputation led many to believe the
Longhorns could upset OSU last Saturday, the truth is Missouri represents are far bigger threat to the Pokes unblemished record. Yes, the Tigers are a mere 3-3, but their record belies a talented team capable of knocking off almost all of the top 25 on any given day. Oklahoma State will score its share of points to be sure, but the danger for the Cowboys here is Mizzou's ability to hit back. The Tigers rank 13th in the nation in total offense (498.8) and 26th in scoring (35.5 points per game), and when they are not busy shooting themselves in the foot, they look like a top 15 team. Should be an exciting one in Columbia.
USC Trojans vs Notre Dame Fighting Irish (-8.5): The Trojans, which despite their 5-1 record have been something of a disappointment this season, are coming off an impressive 30-9 road win at California. The score was somewhat skewed, though, due to five Golden Bear turnovers. Matt Barkley completed 19 passes for an uninspiring 5.6 yards per pass and the offense was out-gained by Cal 329 to 313. USC will need more than smoke and mirrors to upset an Irish team that is just beginning to feel its oats. Notre Dame has reeled off four consecutive wins, beating Michigan State, Pittsburgh, Purdue, and Air Force by an average of 18.8 points per game. Get $50 in Free CFB Picks Here.
