The Missouri Tigers (5-1 overall, 1-1 Big 12) travel to Austin, Texas, where they’ll take on the nation’s No.1-ranked Texas Longhorns (6-0, 2-0) Saturday night. Mizzou is looking to bounce back after being knocked from the ranks of the unbeaten last Saturday in a gut-wrenching 28-23 home loss to then No.17 Oklahoma State. The loss dropped Missouri in the national polls down to No. 11 in the Associated Press poll entering the OSU game.

Oddsmakers at Sportsbook.com have Texas listed as a 4 ½ point favorite ATS and -190 on the money line with a 65 total. Mizzou backers are getting +165 money line odds.

The Tigers will have their work cut out for them Saturday, as they’ll be facing the nation’s new No. 1-ranked team in the Texas Longhorns, who are coming off an impressive win over previous No. 1 Oklahoma. The Longhorns staged a big rally in their annual Red River Rivalry game against the Sooners, as they trailed 21-10 early in the 2nd quarter. Texas closed the gap to 21-20 at half with 10 straight points, and took the lead for good with 7:37 left in the game on a Cody Johnson 1-yard run. Johnson tacked on a 2-yard touchdown run with 4:02 left to ice the win that helped the Longhorns supplant OU as the No. 1 team in the land.

Texas features the play of star quarterback Colt McCoy, who enters Saturday’s game ranked 4th in the NCAA in pass efficiency (189.02 rating), and 9th in the country in total offense (317.50 ypg). The Longhorns have scored at least 38 points in each game so far, and have Big 12 wins at Colorado (38-14) and versus Oklahoma (45-35) in 2008. McCoy has jumped to the top of the Heisman Trophy watch list following the victory over OU.

Missouri quarterback Chase Daniel remains in the hunt for the Heisman Trophy and could turn things around by orchestrating an upset in Austin this weekend over Texas. Daniel ranks third nationally in total offense (362.5 yards per game) and fifth in pass efficiency, leading the Tigers to 15 straight scoring drives at one point this season.
