2010 College Football Week 8 Odds: The release of the BCS standings this week has added an additional element of importance to this week's college football action. Most team's are heading into the thick of their conference schedules, which makes every game a critical one, but certain squads have the added pressure of BCS implications resting on their shoulders. The two teams bearing the biggest burden this weekend are the top ranked Oklahoma Sooners and 11th ranked Missouri Tigers as the two Big 12 rivals clash in Columbia. 2010 College Football Week 8 Odds at Sportsbook.com have the Sooners listed as a -3 road favorite in Saturday's showdown.
Oklahoma Sooners vs Missouri Tigers (+3): The Sooners garnered the top spot in the opening BCS standings this week after
going 6-0 to open the season against a number of quality teams, including Florida State, Air Force, Cincinnati, and Texas. Oklahoma has been less than impressive at times, but it is difficult to argue with the results. The Sooners may be hitting their stride as well as Saturday's 52-0 drubbing of Iowa State would indicate. The weekend's road trip to Missouri will certainly test that theory with the Tigers looking quite formidable as well. Mizzou, also 6-0, has allowed a combined nine points in its two conference games this season, beating Colorado 26-0 and Texas A&M 30-9.
LSU Tigers vs Auburn Tigers (-6): This game has huge implications for both LSU and Auburn as they each attempt to gain control in the SEC's tough as nails West Division. People have been waiting for Les Miles squad to cave, but, thus far, the Tigers have survived on a good mix of talent and some sort of Bayou Voodoo. They are 7-0 and No. 6 in the BCS standings coming into this game, which will provide another opportunity to prove the naysayers wrong. Auburn, the No. 4 team in the BCS, is also 7-0 after beating Arkansas 65-43 last Saturday. It is safe to say that LSU, despite facing West Virginia and Florida, has not seen an offensive attack like the one Cam Newton and the Tigers will throw at them this weekend at Jordan-Hare Stadium.
